(Oh So) Beautiful Papers!
I looveee this post by (Oh So) Beautiful Papers! The patterns and prints on the stationary have a strong ethnic fabric theme which works well in the crisp modern colours used!

Biology!
First stencil!
I was in an ' I dont know what to do mood' so I cut this simple stencil from a piece of acetate and then printed it on to a plain cotton apron. The fabric paint was a much more florescent colour than it looked on the label but I think this adds a fresh and Spring feel to it! ... Sorry for the bad photos the lighting's awful in here!

Ink&Spindle!
I have recently rediscovered Ink&Spindle ... I love that all their fabrics are hand screen printed and they understand the limitations of hand screen printing and love working within those limits, only working with one or two colours and using over layering techniques to built up beautiful pieces. I also love their ethical philosophy, I think this makes the pieces even more special and gives them a very 'high end' feel.

Pinterest.com!
I've just discoverd Pinterest, a website that allows you to build virtual mood boards, using any image from the web as well as the huge collection 'pinned' by other memebers. This is a really fun and interesting way of getting a lot of inspiration very quickly and other members can also pin pictures on your boards for you, giving you a helping hand!

Patterns!
So I've decided to have a proper go at stenciling, so whilst I wait for fabric paint to arrive in the post I've started drawing a few basic patterns to then make into stencils and print on to fabrics! Heres the first one I have done ...
Response to Fifi Lapin!
For this skirt project I have been doing some fashion illustrator research, including research in to Fifi Lapin. I used their template to drew my own outfit on and then made some simple patterns using the response!
