New Designs This Year!

My favourite part of making homewares is designing repeat surface patterns to be digitally printed onto fabrics for the home. Up until recently I have only been able to have my designs printed occasionally as I was sourcing from Overseas which took time and was expensive.
I have recently however found a UK digital printer who deals in short runs ... perfect for me!
I am SO happy with the quick production and quality of this printer and I will be having lots of new designs printed this year!
Here is one of my new designs that I made from an original lino print, which I then turned into a repeat and had digitally printed onto a medium weight cotton canvas fabric!

Bespoke order!

Recently I have been making a bespoke order for a customer to give as a gift to a friend!
I helped the customer choose the colours, fabric, trim and products to suit their needs.
I then handmade the cushion and the peg bag making them truly unique!
I had a delighted customer and have been told the recipient of the gifts also loved them!
I really love the greens and teals used in this order and would like to combine them in some of my other pieces!

Bespoke Cushions!

This week I have completed a pair of bespoke cushions for a lovely customer who I helped chose the fabric and trim for her cushions, which I then handmade for her. These were a present for her to give her parents for Mothers and Fathers day, which I have been told they absolutly loved!

The colour scheme from the room that my customer wanted to continue was a dark orange and red, I therefore researched suitable fabrics and gave my customer lots of different options. The fabric that she loved was a fabric by Jessica Jones called wildflower dawn. Unfortuantly this fabric was only available in America so I ordered it and got it shipped over to the UK.

The trim we decided on was a dark red/ burgandy pom pom trim which really complimented the colours in the fabric and also the plain fabric I chose to use on the back of the cushions.

I really like how these cushions turned out and customer loved them!

My new moustache cushion!

I've been experimenting again with applique and using a retro print patterned fabric with a bold black moustache appliqued on! I love the result of this! the fun pattern is brought to life even more by the contrast of the black moustache!
I love this cushion and it is now up for sale on my Etsy shop!
I will be making more of this type of cushion using different patterned fabrics and maybe even some of my own digitally printed fabrics!

Cushions finished!

I finished the cushion in the previous post and made a second using the rest of my digitally printed patterned samples! I used an invisible zip to close the second cushion and LOVE how this looks!

I am really impressed with the digitally printed fabric and have already ordered a few more of my patterns to be printed! I love the clean cut, professional finish digitally printing gives, yet still allows my patterns and colours to pop!

Quirky patchwork cushion in the making!

A while ago I had some of my patterns digitally printed on to fabric via spoonflower.com. Ive not really been sure how to use the samples sent to me as they were quite a small size, however today Ive started making a patchwork cushion with 4 of my samples!
Ive gone for a simple patchwork style and will include a classic envelope closure when I find some suitable fabric to back the cushion with!
Here is the cushion so far ....

Cushion cover!

New Year, New projects!

After a busy Christmas and New years I thought I'd ease myself back in textiles and patterns.

I made this simple cushion in fabric I fell in love with. I love the retro and bold feel the print has, and I've even included a chunky gold button as a fastener!

A bit of A-level Coursework!

Although I made these pieces almost a year ago I'm still in love with the pattern and colours I created! The cushion has the pattern appliqued on, which gives it great texture and the table runner is screen printed for practicality!
