Mock ups!

As I will be getting my fabric samples printed up soon, this week I have been experimenting with toiles of the products I will be making with my own fabric soon!

I find making mock ups or toiles very useful as they allow me to create paper patterns to use for future products and let me get the sizes and shapes of products correct!

I made my mock ups in plain cotton fabrics, in similar weights to the fabric my patterns will be printed on, to get an idea of how the final pieces will look.

I have mocked up 3 fully lined zipped pouches - one a small coin purse size, one a larger makeup bag/pencil case size and lastly a slightly larger bag with boxed bottom corners for use as a wash bag.

I have also created these two cushion mock ups, one a large square and one a smaller rectangular shape. These cushions both feature envelope closures on the back.

A Belated Post!

Just before Christmas I had a stall at The Preston Candover School Christmas Fair, the school was full of various gifts, chocolates, games and more and was a pleasure to be at!

The Finlay Foundation Winter Gift and Craft Fair 2014

Recently I attended The Finlay Foundation Winter Gift and Craft fair held in The Corn Exchange in Devises.
This was a lovely fair packed with gorgeous handmade gifts from a huge range of different talented artists and designers!

New Printed Products!

I have recently started screen printing again, which is a process I have always loved and enjoyed doing!
I have had two screens exposed with my pattern designs, allowing me to print my own designs onto a range of textile pieces.

Sale at KBR

This week I had a stall at KBR offices in Leatherhead! The sale was really good fun and lots of lovely handmade pieces got sold!

The Travelling Village Market!

Last weekend I had a stall at the first Travelling Village Market in Cheriton, Hampshire.
It was a glorious hot sunny day with lots of lovely people!

Stall at the Alresford Music Festival!

This weekend I had a stall at the Alresford Music Festival, after setting up in thunder, lightening and very heavy rain we had a lovely hot and sunny day!

Wimbledon Market 31st May & 1st June!

This weekend I had a stall at the Wimbledon monthly market! It was a great weekend with lots of handmade pieces sold, lots of sun and even a live steel drum band playing!

Experimenting!

I've had a fun day in my studio today experimenting with different appliqued shapes and using different stitching styles including free machine, tight zigzag and basic running stiches!

Ive had a very productive day and managed to not only make more pieces but also photograph, edit and upload new pieces to my Etsy shop!

I am really pleased with these new products, I find them bright, bold, fun and interesting.. what do you think?

Getting ready for Wimbledon Christmas Market!

This weekend I will have a stall in Wimbledon on both Saturday and Sunday (which is the Winter Wonderland night!) I am very excited and have been making cushions, bunting, lavender bags and more out of brightly coloured, retro patterned and vintage fabrics, so that hopefully my stall is bursting with colour and lots of lovely Christmas presents and stocking fillers!

Ive been working with retro and vintage fabrics recently and love the look and feel of upcycling old fabrics into something new! keep an eye on my Etsy shop as their will be pieces popping up soon!

I've just uploaded these two handmade cushions onto my Etsy shop! They are made using my digitally printed pattern printed onto a high quality heavy twill cotton fabric.
The cushions are bright and bold and feature an invisible zip closure!
