Sewing Colour Inspiration!

I'm spending endless days in the studio at the end of my garden at the moment drawing, editing, repeating and creating surface patterns for my brand Elizabeth Pinn. I intend on bringing out a new season/ range of patterns fairly soon ... hopefully by the end of summer this year!
Whilst I am still in the designing stage however I am constantly getting inspired by all the sewing and craft related bits and pieces I have collected that live in various places in my studio!

These are a few threads, ribbons and trimmings that I have been loving recently! ...

A Belated Post!

Just before Christmas I had a stall at The Preston Candover School Christmas Fair, the school was full of various gifts, chocolates, games and more and was a pleasure to be at!

The Finlay Foundation Winter Gift and Craft Fair 2014

Recently I attended The Finlay Foundation Winter Gift and Craft fair held in The Corn Exchange in Devises.
This was a lovely fair packed with gorgeous handmade gifts from a huge range of different talented artists and designers!

Sale at KBR

This week I had a stall at KBR offices in Leatherhead! The sale was really good fun and lots of lovely handmade pieces got sold!

Wimbledon Market 31st May & 1st June!

This weekend I had a stall at the Wimbledon monthly market! It was a great weekend with lots of handmade pieces sold, lots of sun and even a live steel drum band playing!

Magazine advert!

This month I have placed an advert in 'The Market Square' section of my local magazine, The Alresford and Itchen Valley Forum!
This magazine boasts 14,900 readers and features lots of usueful and interesting pieces and adverts.
The section I have featured on is 'A place for local retailers to display their wares and provide readers with seasonally evocative, inspirational gift and style ideas.'
I chose to feature one of my handmade cushions in one of my own digitally printed fabrics, bright and bold as always!

Keyrings!

I spent a lvoely sunny day today sewing a selection of fun and bright keyrings...
I have used a mix of my own fabrics, retro fabrics and patterened fabrics to make these keyrings with a contrasting bright colour or stripe on the back.
The little keyring's are gently padded with polyester stuffing to give a plush  look and feel!

Ive also finished a few more makeup bags, soon to be online!... 

Experimenting!

I've had a fun day in my studio today experimenting with different appliqued shapes and using different stitching styles including free machine, tight zigzag and basic running stiches!

Brand New Website Launched!!

I am VERY excited to officially launch my brand new website! I had an amazing website designer (find her fantastic work at www.charlieapple.co.uk) who built the entire website from scratch and created my brand new logo!
I am so happy with the website, it is full of beautiful photos and lots of information on all of my handmade homewares!!

Ive had a very productive day and managed to not only make more pieces but also photograph, edit and upload new pieces to my Etsy shop!

I am really pleased with these new products, I find them bright, bold, fun and interesting.. what do you think?

Getting ready for Wimbledon Christmas Market!

This weekend I will have a stall in Wimbledon on both Saturday and Sunday (which is the Winter Wonderland night!) I am very excited and have been making cushions, bunting, lavender bags and more out of brightly coloured, retro patterned and vintage fabrics, so that hopefully my stall is bursting with colour and lots of lovely Christmas presents and stocking fillers!

Working with retro and vintage fabrics!

Ive been working with retro and vintage fabrics recently and love the look and feel of upcycling old fabrics into something new! keep an eye on my Etsy shop as their will be pieces popping up soon!

Cushions finished!

I finished the cushion in the previous post and made a second using the rest of my digitally printed patterned samples! I used an invisible zip to close the second cushion and LOVE how this looks!

I am really impressed with the digitally printed fabric and have already ordered a few more of my patterns to be printed! I love the clean cut, professional finish digitally printing gives, yet still allows my patterns and colours to pop!

A quick cross stitch!

I've been unable to make anything properly over the last few months due to moving house/ having an extension, so I've been thinking of different things that I can do that don't require too much room, many fabrics or a sewing machine! I came up with cross stitches!.... Here's the first of many hopefully!! (I haven't done one in years and annoyingly accidentally dropped a line of stitches with out realising half way through the 'M'! not too bad for a first attempt though!
